Neurofeedback is one very successful way a child or adult can learn to lower stress responses. This trains the process of learning to self-regulate brainwave patterns associated with stress and anxiety. Our stress neurofeedback treatment also teaches how to reduce stress by increasing brainwave activity directly connected to the relaxation response.
Another stress treatment we offer is Heart Rate Variability: a form of biofeedback that measures the beat-to-beat changes in heart rate as the heart rate changes up and down. A person can learn to control their heart rate variability pattern so that the rhythm is more coherent and less erratic, thereby reducing stress and anxiety.
Stress treatment also uses sound therapy to reduce stress and anxiety. By listening carefully to the sound of one’s heartbeat and breath, coupled with seven sounds each vibrating to various notes, a state of attunement and relaxation is created, and stress reduction is achieved.
Proper diet and nutrition is another way to achieve stress reduction. Together, the client and Dr. D’Amico create a diet and nutritional regiment that provides the necessary vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids to create physiological, spiritual and emotional balance. To assess the presence of potential food allergies, Autonomic Response Testing (ART) is utilized. ART is also used to identify potential remedies (e.g., vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc.) to assist the body in regaining balance and harmony while achieving a state of stress reduction.
Stress treatment for the individual may include Intention Therapy™. In this stress treatment, people align themselves with the intentions, good feelings, positive attitude, and gratitude they experience during sessions, to experience feelings of hope, peace, serenity, and harmony that promote stress reduction.
Stress treatment also uses Progressive Muscle Relaxation is another way to train the body and mind to reduce stress. Dr. D’Amico teaches and coaches the individual to learn a series of breathing exercises coupled with visualization exercises that facilitate stress reduction.
Detoxification strategies are another method of reducing stress on body, mind and Spirit. A person learns how to identify sources of toxins in food and water, and what to do to assist the body in eliminating them.
Electronic Transdermal Point Stimulation (electro acupuncture), cold laser acutherapy, essential oil aromatherapy, and acupressure are other treatments that assist the person in achieving stress reduction. Parasympathetic points based on Traditional Chinese Medicine are stimulated that create a “Yin” state of relaxation and stress reduction.
